First things first this place is busy. I've seen a lot of people comment on the wait time and yes the food does take time for it to come out so I went in expecting to wait. Our server was amazing, you can tell he was overwhelmed but kept a great attitude throughout our dinning experience. We started with apps, watermelon cups and fried green tomatoes prepared vegan. The apps came out fairly quick and were on point. The watermelon cups were different, came with goat cheese and sour cucumber salad over watermelon "cups" , I really enjoyed them so did my wife and kids. The fired green tomatoes were excellent, hot and fried to perfection. They came with jalapeños, pickled red onions and shredded lettuce, fantastic blend of flavors. I had the meat loaf and eggs, the meat loaf was made from brisket and was a cool 6.5 7 out of 10 not much flavor but I enjoyed it nonetheless. My wife had the shrimp and grits, my kids had French toast and a biscuit sandwich all which of which they enjoyed. I left full and satisfied, we sat outside so it was nice watching people stroll by. Would like to come back and try other menu options.

This restaurant is my all-time favorite to go for brunch. I would recommend always making reservations if you want to come here this restaurant gets really really busy that is always kind of meh but food is great. The breakfast cocktail is always hit. The atmosphere is always loud and friendly with a bunch of people that come here with friends and family feels like a family establishment so it's a nice vibe. This place is awesome and I love coming here. The food is great. the service is always OK. The beverages are good is street parking but still cool

I visited here after a long absence with my girlfriend. I always enjoyed the porch, plus the parking is easier than downtown Sac. First of all great drinks. Though I did not partake on this occasion. The place was pretty full around 12:30 so we ate at the bar. We were up for breakfast so I told my girlfriend I would get her some beignet's. I decided on the shrimp Po boy. The shrimp Po boy was excellent, bountiful portions of shrimp with vegetables. A great combination. The beignet's were not as good as I remembered, but still good and you get a large portion and a beautiful presentation.with plenty of fruit. My only complaint was the service. The food took way too long and the wait staff would only come if we called them. Other than that the Porch is still a good place, they just need some improvements to the service.

This was the second place I went to on my food tour of Sacramento and I'm glad I did! The Porch is quite inconspicuous, what looks to be a house from the outside with a quaint porch turns into a gorgeous restaurant inside. The inside has a southern charm to it and makes you feel like you're no longer in California. The service was impeccable, our server was knowledgeable of the menu and gave great advice on what to have. The beignets were melt in your mouth sweet and savory delectable. I had the pulled brisket biscuit which I thoroughly enjoyed with one minor critique of the bbq sauce being just a tad sweet. I gave four stars only because I've heard from locals that the quality of food depends on the chef. I think we came on a good chef day last Saturday. I'll probably go back to try more of the menu there was so much I wanted to try!
